TAX COLLECTOR - PAY ONLINE

Before paying on line, you need to know that you have two choices of payment; credit card or electric transfer of funds from your account to the tax collector’s account.

CREDIT CARDS: The cards that are accepted are Mastercard, Discover, AmericanExpress and Visa.. If you are using a Debit Card, it will be accepted as a credit card payment on our side of the transaction and would have the same charges associated with credit cards. MCC handles all the payments to the credit card companies, but the expense is passed on to you.

ELECTRIC TRANSFER: Your funds can be electrically transferred to the Town’s account on the date you would like to schedule a payment. Each bill paid is considered a separate transaction and a service charge of .35 per bill will also be considered a separate transaction. So if you have a special account you plan to pay your taxes from, make sure you are not limited to the number of transactions. If any of the payments are refused, the entire payment process will be canceled.

If you are a first time payer through this site, there is a one time “sign up” where your contact information is stored. There is no obligation, once signed up, to follow through with a payment choice. After you have been signed up you then could “log-in” to the payment site to search for your bills.

INSTRUCTIONS TO PAY THROUGH MCC ONLINE SERVICE

Follow directions to “Signup for Online Payments.” You will be requested to complete a registration form including your name, address, and email address. You will also be asked to create a Username and Password which you may then use to login to your account and pay your tax bills. There is no fee for creating an account.

Once registered, your account will remain active from year to year. A record of all payments made using eBill can be accessed by viewing your “Payment Report” when logged into your eBill account.

To make a payment using eBill, you MUST have your current bill information in order to pull up any accounts you wish to pay.
Options:
To Search your account by LIST#
· For RE and PP taxes input the LAST SEVEN DIGITS OF THE CURRENT GRAND LIST BILL.
· For MV; input LAST SEVEN DIGITS OF THE MV# located at the top of the bill.
To Search by OWNER:
· Input name as it is displayed on the bill sent to you AND the amount Due for each piece of property.
To Search by PROPERTY:
· Input property designated at the center top of the bill AND the amount Due on the bill.

Helpful Hints

· Please confirm you have pulled up the correct bills you were searching for.                                                   If correct, you can pay the amount shown due, or Input a partial payment ,or if you want to pay both installments with one payment, add the bill to your cart and then adjust the amount you would like to pay.
              You may continue your search if incorrect information was retrieved or if you have more bills you intend to include in your “Payment Cart”

Each bill will be recorded as an individual transaction.
For an electronic transfer, there will be a 35 cent charge for each transaction.
If a charge card is used for payment then a percentage of the total taxes paid will be the fee.

Click on the Payment Method Tab to enter and save your payment options. This will allow you to make payments quickly once you have loaded them into your Payment Cart.
