If you’ve been following the news, I’m sure you’re aware of the corona virus infection that originated in Wuhan City, China and has since spread to many countries. The virus causes a disease which has been named “coronavirus disease 2019”, more commonly referred to as COVID-19. COVID-19 causes flu-like symptoms. As of today, February 27th, no cases have been reported in Connecticut.
I’m keeping in touch with CRAHD, our health district, to stay informed about this developing situation. CRAHD participates in weekly conference calls with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the state Department of Public Health (CT DPH). The CDC and CT DPH are the ultimate authorities for guidelines and recommendations to minimize the spread of COVID-19. I’m sure their guidelines will change as we learn more about the disease.
