Lower Interest Rate on Tax Bills

As part of the COVID relief program Executive Order 7S issued from the State of Connecticut, the Town of Haddam has adopted a lower interest rate on late bills. This lower rate will apply to the current 2018 Grand List years and prior until September 30, 2020. The interest rate on late bills will be .25% instead of the 1.5% that is mandated by State Statute.
For anyone that paid a bill in April, your account was credited with the difference. If a refund can be issued, you will be notified by mail.
The upcoming bills in July will have the same low interest rate until September 30, 2020. After that, the interest rate of 1.5% will resume. Executive Orders from the state are constantly being modifed, we will keep you updated of any changes.
