State of Connecticut Seeking Volunteers for Contact-Tracing Program

The State of Connecticut is excited to partner with the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) as part of our COVID-19 contact tracing efforts which is a critical component of limiting the spread of this disease. Thank you very much for your interest in helping Connecticut with this very important task.

We are recruiting volunteers who are available for a minimum of 4 hours per week* for at least 6 weeks and who meet the below requirements:

A minimum of 18 years of age

A minimum education level of a bachelors degree

Access to a computer, cell phone, and WiFi (You will be provided a number via an app on your phone so you will NOT have to use your personal number to make calls.)

To participate in the program, volunteers will need to complete an online training course from Johns Hopkins (JH) Bloomberg School of Public Health (link) which takes approximately 5-6 hours to complete.

After completing the JH course please visit this link to register and attach your certificate: CT COVID Contact Tracing Registration Page.  Please note - for the question, "What organization are you providing contact tracing for?" select the answer, "Department of Public Health (State Volunteer)" and for, "Are you affiliated with any of the below organizations?" please select, "Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)."  Once registered, we will reach out to you to provide information about Connecticut specific training sessions.  Thank you for your interest and please let me know if you have any questions.

*We offer 2-hour shifts from 8AM - 8PM, seven days per week.

We will be working with DEMHS and your local CERT leadership to ensure that teams are properly activated under Connecticut General Statutes Title 28 in order to receive the statutory liability and workers compensation protections.
