Legal Notice - Annual Budget Meeting & Special Town Meeting
Notice is hereby given to the legal voters and/or taxpayers of the Town of Haddam that the Annual Budget Meeting and a Special Town Meeting will be held at the Haddam Fire Station #1, 439 Saybrook Road, Higganum CT on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 6:30 pm for the following purpose:
- To elect a Moderator
Budget Approvals
- To consider and vote on the detailed Capital Budget (project authorizations).
- To consider and vote on the July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024 Annual Budget recommended by the Board of Finance totaling $37,452,971.
Grant Approvals
- Whereas the Town has previously been awarded a State grant for the Tylerville Bridge Road Sidewalks project. Due to the increased cost of the project, the State has increased the grant funding. The increase in the Town match has been previously approved.
Therefore, be it resolved that the project authorization for the Tylerville Bridge Road Sidewalks project be increased by $920,320 for the additional State grant monies to be received for the project.
Capital and Nonrecurring Fund Transfers
- To consider and vote on the transfer request in the amount of $274,625.05 as follows:
6. To consider and vote on the transfer $90,000.00 from unallocated to the Tylerville Water project for costs which were not eligible to be paid from the grant.
7. To consider and vote on the transfer of $41,136.68 from Bond Issuance Costs for additional costs for the Dublin Hill Bridge project.
8. To do any and all things legal and necessary to accomplish the above-named purposes and take any other action that may legally and properly come before the meeting.
